Ios Island has some of the most spectacular and clean beaches in the Greek Islands. The most popular beach in Ios is Mylopotas beach stretching over a kilometre and lined with bars, restaurants and watersports. Here you can try scuba diving, canoeing and snorkelling or simply just relax and enjoy the sunshine and atmosphere. Mylopotas beach regularly features in polls as one of the “Top 10 Beaches in Europe”. For a quieter and more secluded beach experience explore the likes of Manganari beach, Valmas beach or Kolitsani beach.
Ios, Greece is also home to many historical landmarks, the most famous being Homer’s Tomb. The Byzantine old castle of Paleokastro is well worth a visit too on the way to Psathi beach. There’s also said to be 365 churches on Ios Island Greece so it makes for a great few days out exploring.
